Credits & Models
Understanding credits, models, and how to optimize your usage.
How credits work
Every time the AI processes your request, it consumes credits from your account. The amount used depends on two factors: the complexity of your request and which AI model you've selected.
Your credit balance is always visible in the interface and updates in real-time after each AI response completes, so you can track your usage as you work.
Simple tasks like text responses or minor code tweaks use fewer credits. Generating large amounts of code, creating entire components, or major architectural changes consume more credits.
Credits automatically reset at the start of each month based on your subscription plan. If you run out before the reset, you can purchase additional credit packs anytime to continue working.
Choosing the right model
By default, Auto mode is selected in the model selector. We strongly recommend keeping this setting for the best balance of performance and cost.
Auto mode intelligently analyzes your request and automatically selects the most appropriate model for the task:
- For simple edits and quick fixes, it uses faster, lower-cost models.
- For complex logic and architectural changes, it switches to more powerful models.
This optimization ensures you're not overspending credits on simple tasks while still getting top-tier intelligence when you need it.
You can still manually switch models if needed (e.g., to force a specific provider), but for most workflows, Auto is the most efficient choice.
Managing your credit balance
Monitor your remaining credits directly in the interface. The real-time balance display helps you plan your work and avoid running out unexpectedly.
If you're working on a complex feature and credits are running low, consider breaking it into phases or purchasing additional credits before starting.
Check your account settings to see exactly when your monthly credits will reset based on your billing cycle date.
Running low on credits? You can purchase additional credit packs instantly through your account settings without waiting for the monthly reset or upgrading your plan.
Credit optimization tips
Use lighter models for the initial build and iterations, then switch to higher-quality models only for final refinements and complex features that need extra precision.
Break large projects into smaller, specific requests rather than asking for everything at once. This gives you better control over credit usage and typically produces better results.
Always review changes in the preview before requesting major modifications. Catching issues early prevents wasting credits on multiple rounds of corrections.
Write clear, specific prompts that include all necessary details upfront. Vague prompts often lead to back-and-forth clarifications that consume extra credits unnecessarily.
